h&m stores are popping up faster than ... i don't have an analogy at the moment. my brain is a bit fuddled since i still have that nasty virus that is going around. anyway, h&m... not only have they opened in pasadena and plan to open up everywhere else... there's going to be one in crystal court. they already had the spectrum one planned and now there will be one 15 minutes away? dude... they'd best watch out for over expansion if you ask me. it'll be like krispy kreme.there are so many weddings next year. i've officially received the save the date to one where i'm a guest. then i'm in a wedding in may, july, and september. i'm not complaining, mind you... but jeez people... spread it out a little!!!! i told cicely that i hope nobody else gets engaged or if they do, please have a hella long engagement.
my parents came down to irvine for lunch. i wanted them to meet my undergrad professor, dr. chen, with whom i've kept in touch. he's written me all sorts of letters of rec for programs i've applied for. anyway, my parents and he are both looking to do the same type of non-profit work in china so i thought they could possibly collaborate. i'm back in the office but they are still at panera chatting it up. oh, and i received the nicest compliment. dr. chen told my parents that i was the best student he's had. granted, the best student doesn't necessarily mean the brightest but hey, all in all, a very cool thing to say. i was pleasantly surprised.
