real world: austin
ok... i don't normally catch the real world but last night i couldn't fall asleep and the first three episodes for real world: austin, were on. i wouldn't have even stayed on the channel but joe said it was good. i must say... only a few days and there's TONS of drama. but what pissed me off, to no end, was that the stupidity of one girl led to the demise of one guy. johanna asked nehemiah to look out for her at clubs because she knows, let me repeat, she KNOWS and admits that hard alcohol turns her into a different person. keep in mind this is the second day they are in austin. that night, at the club, nehemiah sees that johanna is off her butt drunk so he tries to get her to stop drinking and offers her water. instead of taking it from him, she starts saying that she's fine and she doesn't want anything from him. then when he explains to her that she, herself, asked for this help, she still says no, and he has to walk away because she's getting physical... pushing and shoving. when he tries to leave she grabs his shirt and starts saying "no, no, no." she grabbed him so much, his shirt came off and even when she was hanging onto his shirt saying "no, no, no" other guys were coming over and people were looking at them. dude, to anybody else it could have easily looked like he was trying to take advantage of her while she said no. nehemiah finally got this crazed drunken stupid ass girl off him and he leaves the club. then crazed drunken ass stupid girl starts crying and tells the roommates that some guy was trying to fight nehemiah. um... some guy?!?!? more like you, you crazed drunken stupid ass girl!!! the guy roommates end up going outside to look for nehemiah and there are some other drunk stupid guys out there and things escalate into a fight. danny gets sucker punched and the bone that helps support the side of his eye gets fractured big time. if he wants to blame someone, he should look no further than the crazed drunken stupid ass girl. stupid!!
again
this is one of those moments that i absolutely dislike my boss.
huh
i arrived to work at 1 p.m. sunday. it's now 1:20 a.m. monday morning. i'm done.
boy to man
this is mostly meant for girls my 8th grade boyfriend turned into this...
and...
yowsa
how can i be sleepy?
last night, i went home, ate, and took a nap from about 6:30 - 10:40. woke up, brushed my teeth, flossed, washed my face, and went back to sleep (around 11). i woke up at 6. that was about 11 hours of sleep...what the heck is going on? time for coffee.
abbreviations
why in the world do we all abbreviate as much as we possibly can? i'm guilty of it too but i don't think that much. some examples...~friend asks... "going to the IE today?" (inland empire... just say corona!)~jay blogs he read more "HP" (i think harry potter. at first i thought an HP computer manual)~the typical FYI and ASAP notes at the office (if you don't know these you need to start working)~email asking if i will be attending the MAW meeting (make a wish)~friend asking what i did for "FD" (father's day)~rsvp for a work related event, "i would love to attend the DRO" (driving range open)~me writing "btw" (by the way) there's a lot more but i can't think of it all right now.
zzzzzzzz
as usual, it's monday morning and i'm in need, though not desperate need, of some coffee. catching up from the weekend...friday i spent time with pal-o-mine, GB. we watched Batman Begins and then ate at Pat & Oscars. Batman was good! then again, i like Christian Bale, ever since Newsies. :) after that i went home to take a nap, a four hour nap. kay came over for a while which was cool because i haven't seen her since mina's wedding. saturday i helped lisa move and that took no time at all. later i went home to see my parents. it being that i can't hold surprises very well, i gave my daddy his father's day gift early, and yes, i still call my daddy, daddy. i am a daddy's girl and am not ashamed to admit it! sunday i caught up with mr. allen chen. haven't seen that guy since i went to boston 2 years ago. we ate at john o'groats. the people there are so friendly and the applesauce pancakes were goooood! thanks cicely, never woulda gone there if you hadn't told me 'bout it! you'd think the applesauce would overpower the pancake, but it didn't. the rest of sunday i spent helping my parents around the house and that was my weekend. i hate the cooling system in my building. when i get into work at 7 it's a nice temperature. then at 8, the AC kicks into overtime or something and it gets HELLA cold! now i'm cold. i have a sweater and a jacket on right now. cold. get this though, the temperature gauge in the office is set at 75. it ain't 75!!!annoyances...~in an email, someone wrote "defenetely" instead of... DEFINITELY!! ~a stupid girl driving a BMW SUV swerving in and out of her lane because she's holding her cell phone in one hand and gesturing while talking with the other. ~LA street signs that don't indicate parking violations for those without placards on their car~LA parking violation fees, $40.00
what a morning
ok... on the radio this morning ryan seacrest said that jennifer anniston issued a statement that the reason she and brad pitt broke up is because he cheated on her. what?!?!it's only 7:30 and already i've dealt with a crabby parent from the program. i'm tired and as a consequence a bit grumpy. this woman is a thorn in my ass. when she filled out the information packet for her son to participate in the program, part of that included his social security number. now that her son won't be in the program, she wants her information packet back claiming that her son could become the victim of identity theft. she also stated that if her son does become the victim of identity theft then we are liable because we are the ONLY ones that have her son's information. um... NO... get a clue!!! anyone and their mom could get a hold of his information. seriously, the kid just applied for colleges, now his information really is out there. idiot woman. i told her that if she had a problem with us having the information, she should have addressed it when she turned the packet in and as it was, i could not give it back to her because if i did, all parents would then want theirs back and we'd have no information for anyone. i hate dealing with parents like her. she wanted to talk to my supervisor. please. that's the ceo and he's going to be even more pissy than i am.
lo and behold
a familiar topic... would ya guess what was on the front page of the oc register life section yesterday? "dating scene: does it matter who pays on a date these days? apparently most think the guy's still on the hook." it addresses the question of who decided that men should pay... a sociology professor at CSUF stated that it used to be that men made more money than women so they were expected to pay for everything. now that women are making as much or more than some men, the expectations for dating are somewhat confusing. the professor stated that "this predicament is a prime example of an anomie -when old societal rules and regulations have not fully expired and new ones are not fully accepted." (who knew what anomie meant? i felt dumb because i didn't... it means the absence of any kind of rule, law, principle or order.)he said...~"i think the guy should pay about 75% of the time. the key, though, is that the girl at least makes a sincere attempt to offer to pay." ~"once we're boyfriend and girlfriend, I don't mind paying most of the time."~"if a girl offers to pay on the first date, I think that's OK. But that never happens."she said...~"...after nine months of dating, he's getting too comfortable and isn't taking me out as much. At my birthday dinner... i had to pay for my own dinner."~"i insist to share the cost but he says, 'the guy pays for his date.'"~"i don't typically care who pays, but if i were to pay for the first date, there wouldn't be a second. if i were to go dutch and pay my share, then for me, that means i just want to be friends."
weekend
woohoo!!! bartending school starts tonight! the only thing is i forgot and i wore a white shirt. they use water with colored dyes for the "alcohol." :/ i hope i don't spill anything on myself. anyway, this weekend was pretty easy. friday didn't do much. i went home and chilled with mis padres. we got to talk about our China trip. saturday dragged by from 1-9 (my last shift at GAP) and then i went to Hennessy's in Dana Point for a friend's going away thing. that place was freaking far! sunday was cool! i went to the san diego wild animal park with a friend i hadn't seen in a couple of years. i got to see the new lion camp which was really cool. all that is between you and the big ol' lions is a thick glass wall. pretty awesome. the lions were only cubs but they looked freaking huge! the only bad thing, which, incidentally, was a gross thing, was on the railway ride, a guy a couple rows ahead of me sneezed while the railway was moving and the sneeze residue misted my face. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!! NASTY!!!! dude, COVER WHEN YOU SNEEZE!!!
wake up!!
dumb. i woke up this morning at 5:50 to take a shower so chris and i wouldn't have to play rock, paper, scissors to see who got to take a shower first. then i decide that i am early so i will just take a mini 20 minute nap. well... smarty pants me forgot to set my alarm. i woke up at 8:20. :0 i got into work at 9. oops. dumb. it's not a problem or anything but i feel dumb. now i have so much to do that i had to cancel lunch with danny. i'm going to the san diego wild animal park this sunday! i haven't been there since i was about 8. i can't wait to see the changes and i heard they have a cool new lion exhibit. sweet!a friend of mine experienced something i hope never to have happen to me. his significant other cheated on him. if i sit and try to rationalize why it happened or what was going through the girl's mind, i can't. why would you cheat on your boyfriend/girlfriend... ever? it's absolutely reprehensible. if you aren't happy with someone or you want to date other people, break up with him! i can't even imagine how i would feel if that happened to me.
second jobs
there are apparently quite a few people that i know that have a part time job in addition to their full time job. my second job at GAP got boring and i spent more money than i earned there. i am now following cicely's lead and attending the National Bartending School. I start on Monday! :)
weird
vegas was awesome! kim and i had a great time. we both won $$ on friday but proceeded to lose on saturday. i won $210 playing roulette (go #5!!!) at wynn and then $200 playing blackjack at treasure island. we had, by far, the coolest blackjack dealer ever. oh, and the MAJOR win of saturday was $8.90 from $1.00 playing nickel slots --note the sarcasm. we took part of our winnings and ate at joe's stonecrab restaurant in caesar's palace. talk about yum and expensive. what else... the spa at venetian was hella cool with the exception of the women traipsing around the locker room and jacuzzi area in their birthday suits. we ate at the pink taco (hard rock hotel) without a clue as to the "meaning" of that name. we just thought it was an interesting/weird name. good mexican food though, especially the chips. while we were there, a guy named Hillary (who would name their boy that?), stopped at our table and talked to us. for a while it was fun but then it got to the point where he wore out his welcome. then it was annoying. somehow the conversation steers in the direction of politics. first of all, if you are about to talk politics with people you don't know, you'd best know what you're talking about or at least sound like you do. this guy had no clue... going on and on about bush being the best president when minutes before he said he didn't like him and didn't vote for him. then he went on to say how "Perry" would never have done the job that bush is doing. my thought was darn tootin' straight! KERRY would have done it better. a small pet peeve of mine is when people use phrases incorrectly... e.g. this guy said "i beg the difference" instead of "i beg to differ." get it right people or don't say it at all!!! :)the line to get to my gate at las vegas airport was absolutely ridiculous. i waited a good hour in that line. there was some sort of security breach. great. it's kind of funny because cicely picked me up but she had forgotten that i was coming in on southwest, not united. she kept driving by the united terminal but nobody was there. she figured it out and all the while i was unaware of what was going on because my flight was actually a little late. as i was walking outside, she called, and i was picked up within minutes. sweet (for me anyway). thanks cicely, for dropping me off and picking me up!!! btw, my seat was really high when i sat in it this morning. :)
piglet
this morning i am a certified piglet. i had a bagel at 7, a chocolate chip muffin at 8, and i guess i should wait 'til 9 to have a donut. there's a lot of food here today for some reason.i now dislike doing transactions online. yesterday i found out that my ticket on united to go return from vegas was wrong. the "customer service" rep at united doesn't understand what her job entails... customer service, there is a $100 penalty fee + difference in cost of ticket to get a return flight on the correct date ($195 one way when my initial rountrip ticket was $145), the customer service line that handles refunds and complaints has been "down" for a day already. then i find out that u of maryland didn't receive my application. i submitted it before their may 1st deadline but the admissions people said that since my cc was charged after the 1st, there's no way to prove that i submitted it before the 1st. this is total lunacy. they are the ones insisting on a stupid online application anyway. oh well, not too much i can do now.
bleh
this is a bleh morning. i'm still feeling bleh from over stuffing myself from the weekend, not to mention yesterday. i went to sleep at 5 and woke up this morning. it's been a while since i've slept through without waking up to wash my face or brush my teeth. eeeeeeeeew. :)things that really bugged me this morning (and it's barely 8 am):~Ryan Seacrest telling everyone "I think I love you."~Bruegger's Bagels giving me a weird bagel with sunflower seeds when I asked for plain.~Bitter coffee~Not fitting into my jeans~Not having my debit card~Bad drivers (especially those who think they own both left turn lanes when they are in the outside lane)i'm really looking forward to vegas this weekend... just chillin out maxin, relaxin all cool... hey, reminds me of fresh prince...now this is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down. i’d like to take a minute just sit right there & i'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air.
in west philadelphia born and raised, on the playground's where I spent most of my days,
just chilling out, maxing, relaxin all cool and shooting some b-ball outside of the school,
when a coupla guys who're up to no good, started makin trouble in my neighbourhood.
i got in one little fight and my mom got scared, and said you’re moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air.
i whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said fresh and had dice in the mirror. if anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought nah forget it, yo home to bel-air. i pulled up to a house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby yo, homes smell ya later. looked at my kingdom I was finally there, to sit my throne as the prince of bel-air
...or something like that.
