naked x-rays!

a possible new x-ray machine at airports that shows you naked?

i was talking to jay about this and gosh... that's cool and totally warranted given the terrorism we are facing today. i'm totally for it. plus, it's not going to truly show you naked but you certainly get a good idea of what's under the clothes. i just don't particularly like the idea of airport workers exchanging wise-cracks about our bodies all day.

postcards

i collect postcards, specifically, postmarked postcards, and not just postmarked from anywhere, but from that particular place.

anyway, i got one from someone last week and i didn't know who it was from. it had my name and address and all it said was "HERE". i knew a few people who went to hawaii around the same time and thinking it was one of my more smart ass friends, i called him and the conversation went as such...

linden: hello
me: hi. (not so happy)
linden: oh hey, what's up? did you get my postcard? i remembered to send it.
me: i guess. not that you cared to write anything. (in a very accusing tone)
linden: what are you talking about? i wrote something!
me: "here" does not count as something.
linden: what? are you sure it was me?
me: yea! who else would it be??

um... thanks cicely and jay.

yucky

boeing = yucky

i talked with my friend last night while he drove home from work. i dislike boeing because they are making my friend work too much. ooooh, he couldn't even tell me what he's working on. classified. he said he'd make it up to me though. it'd better be good!!! j/k. well, not really. no plans, as of yet, to see him this weekend.

i watched last night's mariners game against the angels and it rocked! except when guerrero hit a line drive at soriano's head. good thing it's only a concussion and not a fractured skull. gotta love ichiro. first at bat and opened it up with a homerun. i don't really know who this snelling character is but he had 2 homeruns. good game!

ok, i caught miami ink on tlc at 10 last night and i'm miffed. ami, the guy who i thought was SO cool, has slipped quite a few notches. a girl came in wanting a tattoo on her foot of a rosary that's been passed down in her family for gosh knows how many generations. chris, the tattoo artist who was supposed to do it was unable to because of a back problem so ami was the only one available. he made a big stink saying how he didn't want to do it because why would he? he's jewish. and that he didn't even know what it meant. chris even said that he'd done the star of david on people and he's not jewish so what's the big deal. ami just kept making a big ol' stink. good thing the girl decided to wait to have someone else do it. bad ami.

sleepy

the weekend was incredible, as usual. it was awesome to see the thirtysomethings as well as others i haven't seen in a while. kay and cristina did a fantabulous job and i'm super duper proud of them. congrats to arlene!

my boss sent me home around 1:30 today because he said i looked like crap and it sounded like i was getting sick. i didn't argue. i went to panera to meet up with kay, cristina, francia, and shelby for lunch at my favorite lunch spot, panera. as it would turn out, they were lagging so i grabbed a sandwich and went home. i was going to start my business law paper but took a nap until 4ish. then i put in about 6 hours on my paper. the professor wants it to reflect a good 20 hours of work. i am praying that somehow, my paper will reflect that though i'll probably have only spent about 12 hours on it.

so, i'm tired and as a result, grumpy, and to top it off, my friend might not go on wednesday because he may have to go out of town for work.

wonderful weekend

despite my parents leaving and all the driving i did (irvine to LA to diamond bar to LA to irvine to LA to irvine), i had a GREAT weekend.

friday, i spent time with my parents and helped them prepare their lessons for when they're teaching. i'm going to miss them but, as usual, they'll be back before i know it.

i loved loved loved seeing everyone on saturday at kay's house, especially lara. she's adorable! seeing some people reminded me of the many times that kay and i would travel far and wide to have late night coffee with the "older" dayzers. two very funny moments stood out to me:
~one of the lady dazyers asked if she was the oldest one there and kay responded with, "oh, no, my mom is upstairs."
~playing one of cristina's icebreakers, at one point we had to answer a question... "are you a boy or a girl?" to which reg responded, "no!" what makes it more funny was that she paused before she answered, like she had really thought about it before answering.

toooooooo funny!

after i left there, my "friend" from school, invited me to the angels/mariners game on sunday. of course, i said yes. i mean, hello? it's the mariners! ;) he picked me up at my house in irvine and we were off to the game with his brother and his brother's girlfriend. the game was bittersweet. bitter because my beloved mariners fell to the stupid angels in the 9th inning by one run but sweet because it gave me time to get to know my friend more.

944 Avocado
Newport Beach, CA 92660

they're delicious!!!!

cry baby

i've felt like crying lately for no particular reason. i felt myself tearing up when i was watching remember the titans on sunday night. some of the scenes where i was tearing up weren't even sad, they were happy (writing "tearing" is starting to look weird. great. now i feel like i'm spelling it wrong.). i hate crying. it reminds me of when our long-lost bible study group watched The Passion of The Christ. i sobbed during that movie. why can't i be like aaron and dorothy and not cry at all?

speaking of which, i wonder if the long-lost bible study group will ever meet again.

rebound

if someone is "on the rebound" is he/she truly free to pursue another relationship? i know there are people that are monogomous daters that always have a significant other, pursuing one serious relationship to the next, and it works, but is it wise? does a person need time to rediscover what it is to be by him/herself? most of the time i think a person should always know him/herself, especially when in a relationship. so then the question becomes, is a rebounder emotionally ready to commit to another individual? especially if that person was dumped or if that person was with his/her significant other for many years?

common courtesy

if you are a guest at someone's house or if you share a bathroom with a roommate, there are simple rules of common courtesy, no?

this morning, much to my disgust, i looked down and noticed that there were dark brown spots on the front portion of my toilet bowl. so, i lifted the lid and gosh, i wish i hadn't done that. there were brown spots, splashes, and drip trails everywhere, even running down the outside of the front of the toilet. i don't know how i didn't see this before. it is NASTY.

i don't share a bathroom with anyone and my roommates don't use my toilet so it must have been a guest. i know i didn't leave this mess and if i did, i would have cleaned it up and i certainly wouldn't be blogging about it. i want whoever did this to clean my freakin toilet and all around it because who knows where else this nastiness splashed.

weekend update

happy birthday, mark! (8-6)

relaxing weekend...

friday, i visited lisa and maya. we went to dinner and the mall. lisa was able to stay away for 3 hours before she was itching to go back to her little munchkin.

saturday, i met the other bridesmaids and maid/matron of honor in cicely's party. i finally saw mina and got to hangout with her for a while which was pretty cool. then i went home. you know, with no traffic, it barely takes any time to get from san gabriel to topanga. sunday, i spent at home with the parents and ate a lot. we plowed our way through 1.5 spice cakes. i made the cakes on saturday night and by sunday night, there were only about 2 slices left. :) yum!

that, in a nutshell, was my weekend. fun stuff!

nauseous and nasty

i took the day off on monday because i felt nauseous and nasty. i thought it would go away but at work on tuesday, my boss sent me home saying, "you look like you're about to puke and we don't need the office smelling." same thing happened today. i even missed class because i felt so nasty. anyway, after tons of sleeping, i'm feeling much much better tonight. thank God. i have a meeting in the morning that i cannot reschedule. there's a ton of work that i need to get to (now, people, i am not, i repeat, not pregnant. it's IMPOSSIBLE).

ok, i have a question. let me explain first. there's a guy that when i first met him, i developed a crush that was squashed when i discovered he had a girlfriend. anyway, we've been emailing and recently, we exchanged numbers. a while ago, a group of people, including he and i, were hanging out and it came up that we are friends. it was explicity stated. anyway, he called me on monday to say hi and see how i was feeling, and we ended up talking for an hour. i didn't realize it was an hour until i got off the phone. my roommates and another friend said that isn't typical of a friend and that emailing more than 4 times in a week is also not typical of a friend. the reason why? he has a girlfriend. now, i would say that we are just friends. i email all the time with a lot of people who have significant others. my friends say that's different because those friendships are established. well, i thought that my friendship with this guy is established. what do you think?

protesting

doesn't it look like maya is protesting against something?
