weekend

what a weekend. friday night, i worked. saturday i studied, went to class, then went to jay's birthday at v2o. sunday, i worked from 10 am until 11:30 pm. monday i woke up at 5 am to ready to go to work. the reason i've been working so much is because of a fundraiser yesterday. it went really well so the work paid off.

grey's anatomy was sooooo good last night. can't wait for this weekend's show. what the heck is code black??? kay? is there such a thing?

the day was capped off in a most stellar fashion with the ducks winning in OT against the Kings. we're 3-2 against the kings now. awesome!! actually, the two games the kings won against us were shootouts. not too shabby.

scary?

am i scary?

where did this question come from?

i had breakfast with kay this morning. we met at my apartment around 10:45 and decided to get breakfast. i really wanted breakfast because it's the best meal of the day, and kay wanted cinnamon french toast from ruby's. of course, that means we go to joey's ruby's so we can grub for free! breakfast is not served past 11:30 am. at about 11:20, we are maybe 5 minutes from ruby's and the conversation went something like this:

kay (suddenly interrupting what i was saying): do you think we should call it in so we make sure we get breakfast?
me: no, why? don't they have a 10 minute leeway or something?
kay: i don't know. maaaybe.
me: it's ok if we don't get breakfast
kay: are you suuuuuuuure?? i don't want you to miss breakfast
me: yea, it's ok.
kay: ok, i just don't want you to get mad.

for what, you ask? for not getting breakfast! she said she was scared of me! then, after breakfast, we're driving back to my place and...

me: i can't believe you thought i'd get mad at you if i didn't get breakfast. i'm not scary.
kay: you're probably going to blog about this and your comments are going to say "me too, me too, me too!"

i'm not scary!

breakfast was awesome. apparently, lorena, the girl that works at ruby's and is good friends with joey and kay, told joey that i ordered a big breakfast and joey told her that i eat a lot. i really don't eat this much at every meal. you be the judge. i had... 2 cups of coffee, 2 glasses of water, a stack of 3 pancakes, 3 sausages, 2 pieces of bacon, breakfast potatoes, toast, and some runny scrambled eggs followed by a small oreo shake to go. that's not a lot!

ok... i know people mean well but if one more person tells me that i shouldn't have gotten the enterprise insurance to protect my *@&#^*@# rental, i will kick him/her. hard. but, it will be with love.

is at&t stupid?

so with the new merge, "AT&T" is now "at&t" because they figure it's more appealing and open to their customers. fine. but are they stupid? who hires their proof readers? and who hires their marketing/pr personnel?

their new tagline is "your world. delivered." but, driving to SF from SJ, my friend and i passed a billboard for at&t that said, "your delivered." now, are they trying to make this phrase commonplace even though it doesn't make sense grammatically? or was it that they have a really dumb proofreader? wouldn't they think this wouldn't make sense? why not keep the whole tagline on the billboard? it really annoyed me.

monday morning blues... on tuesday

well... i'm feeling some major monday morning blues even though it's tuesday. i got in from San Jose at 4 pm and my brother picked me up. i called up sandpiper collision to see if my car was ready, fully expecting to have it back today (tuesday) except, no... i won't get it until maybe friday or saturday. wtf?!?!? here's the breakdown...

december 7th- accident
december 8th- got rental car
december 12th- the towing co. that originally took my car towed it over to sandpiper
december 13th- i signed off giving authorization for them to fix my car
december 14th- sandpiper said the estimated date of return was january 3rd or 4th
january 4th- called to say that during disassembly noticed the transmission mount was broken (first of all... why would they JUST notice the broken mount on january 4th, the day i was supposed to get it back????)
january 7th-mercury calls to let me know my insurance for my rental car is up-i'm on my own
january 10th- called to see if it was done-NO, sandpiper had to order the mount and was waiting for approval from mercury and would then send it out to a dealer for repair
january 16th- called to see if it was done-NO, AGAIN-sandpiper sent it to tustin acura but tustin acura stated that it was the center mount, not the outside mount that was broken. tustin acura is not qualified to replace that. sandpiper had to order the correct mount and send it to another dealer.
january 17th- returning rental car and bumming rides off my brother, his friends, and my friends.

WTF? WTF? WTF? i'm super pissed off. i am going to return my rental car because i just can't afford it. i was already paying $8.95 a day for the insurance covering the car. i got it because the car was brand spanking new and i didn't want to worry about it. so my out of pocket costs right now?

$500 (insurance deductible)
40 days @$8.95 (enterprise insurance)
10 days @30.00 (rental)
** tax for stupid rental car??

i want to make a complaint, but to whom? maybe kay can tell me. i called my mom to voice my frustrations. all i wanted to hear was that it'd be ok... i can pay for it but it means i'd seriously scrape by when tuition comes up in march, and i'd seriously scrape by when my car insurance is due in april (and undoubtedly the premium will increase due to the accident). i know she means well but all she did was suggest a way to get the money and tell me not to use my cc... she suggested i get a part time job. um... when would i work? i work full time and have school thursday/saturday. when would i study if i got another job? the bottomline is that i'm completely broke for the next 3 months. that makes me sad.

ok, this blog was full of a lot of complaints but i don't care. at this point, i feel justified and i'm very much a frustrated girl.

friday dinner

i had so much fun with dexie, pia, jerome, cicely, jay, chris, iya, dorothy, henry, ray, christine, diana, jason, steve, joe, rob, paul, chad, robert, noreen, francis, chan, dalisa, kay, and joey on friday at angelo's and vinci's. thanks for coming out!!! thanks to aaron for dessert at cheesecake factory! i loved the company and i loved the really cool and thoughtful gifts.

i'm in colorado springs for a conference for the USGA. it's cold and the altitude is effecting me. the broadmoor hotel is humungoid so we have to trek from one lobby to another to get to the workshops. it totally wipes me out. the workshops are boring so far and nothing has been useful. my work is getting me a massage for my birthday at the spa! woohoo!!!

shoulda woulda coulda

i shoulda bet on last night's game. i woulda if i coulda. i just didn't have the inclination nor did i know where to place a bet. the day before, on the news, the anchor people were saying who would win and by what. they all bet usc would win by 6, 9, etc. so i thought, somebody has to cheer for texas and said texas will take it by 3. plus, i am a product of the UC system. if anything, i should be cheering for ucla but they weren't exactly in the running this year and you can't cheer for their enemy, sc. it also helps that it is matthew macaskdjfowiejfslid's team. i can't spell his last name for peanuts.

impromptu dinner last night with francis, tommy, and kay. we met at barnes in the marketplace. i was sitting there reading a magazine when someone sat next to me. i looked over and said, "hi tommy." he didn't recognize me!! i didn't change THAT much with getting older. then we went to claim jumper. i kept making the texas longhorn sign and they were all rooting for SC, especially kay. that was funny. i am glad to have gone instead of having sat at home doing nothing. :) i think i ate more of tommy's dinner than my own (mmmm... cornbread!). good stories, lots of laughs. thanks guys, i had a lot of fun!

out with the old, in with the new

the end of december wasn't exactly the best time ever.

friday, the day before christmas eve, i made the unfortunate decision to eat at in-n-out in huntington beach. an hour later, my stomach wasn't feeling too swift. two hours later, i was doubled over in pain. three hours later, i was in the bathroom, and remained there until 4 am. food poisoning is an absolute killer. your insides feel like they're being ripped from out of you from both sides and there's nothing to do. it's horrific. my friend picked me up at 4:30 pm to take me to the LB airport on the 24th for my flight at 7:30 pm. i don't think i've hoped and prayed in such a short time span. all i thought was, "please, please, please, do not make me have to use the toilet on the plane. everyone will hate me." He answered my prayers because i didn't have to use the restroom until i got to my parent's house in utah and then once again, all hell broke loose. my stomach problems lasted until monday. tuesday was a good day. then wednesday, i woke up coughing. we flew back and then it hit me, the flu. i was in bed wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday. that was my new year's celebration. fun!

i can't really say as i made any new year's resolutions. i never seem to keep them. i feel like christmas and new year's came and went. maybe it's because i was sick but it also just kind of happened without any real shabang to it. i dunno. probably just me.
