watch those hands!
last night, at my roommates' weekly wednesday dinner, we were all talking about the appropriate place a man may place his hand on a woman when taking pictures together (get your mind out of the gutter if it fell in there). most of the girls said a hand around the waist or on the shoulder is fine. i said the same but sometimes, a guy's hand rests on the waist/hip. make sense? dalisa was saying that chan had his hands in the wrong places at a wedding they were at last weekend. in one picture, she said one of his hands was around the shoulder and the other was resting on the leg. now, that would be inappropriate... until she showed us the pictures, that is. the bride was sitting on his lap and seriously, the picture looked fine, nothing inappropriate. there were a couple other pictures she didn't like but i didn't see the problem. maybe i am not girly enough to see the problem but then, the other girls kind of didn't see the problem, too... kind of. the guys thought it was fine.
i am a ball of confusion
seriously. what is up with that? i don't like being confused and i'm not even sure what i'm confused about!i can't believe i start school tomorrow. i haven't done the problems for class yet. i was supposed to read and do some problems last night but i didn't get home from work until late and i was too pooped to even attempt to open the book, let alone try some practice problems.my coworker, who also happens to be a good friend, told me he thinks it's odd that the person i'm dating and i don't talk every day on the phone. i don't think it's odd. i mean, is it? why would it be? i'm not a phone person to begin with and the fact that when we do talk on the phone, it goes well and i'm not itching to get off... well, that's got to be a good sign, right? maybe it's not a good sign that i haven't seen him since thursday but i dunno... that's part of dating? eh, i'm trying not to be too much of a girl and read into things these days. it's kind of working... sort of.
ghetto!
friday night wasn't so much of a spa night as a time to talk about everything under the sun. pia was right. it was liberating. it's been a while since i've been able to sit down with girl friends and just talk... especially about what we talked about. that was definitely not every day conversation. thank you to dex, pia, kay, and cristina. i'm looking forward to ghetto spa night III. sorry, my mistake on the last one... it was in fact, ghetto spa night II. :)
grey's boo-boo
i'm AIMing with francia and she said she already watched this week's episode of grey's! apparently, they made a boo-boo in canada and aired the wrong episode. someone downloaded it and she watched it. and she won't tell me what happened!!!! not even a tantalizing tidbit of information... nothing. well... she did say that mcsteamy is back. :)
have you?
have you ever had one of those moments where you're in the process of smiling and then, out of left field, you start crying? those suck.
GREY'S ANATOMY!!!!!!
season premiere tonight at 9 on abc!!!!! i CANNOT wait. i have a date tonight but i just talked to him and thank God, we're going to watch grey's. i can't miss it. yes, the show is that awesome.
good times
went to the dodger game last night. it's so like the dodgers to pull off an incredible game one night and then bomb the next. even though the game wasn't that great, the suite was awesome! it was right above first base. tracey and i ate dodger dogs and yummy desserts from the dessert cart. i really am truly grateful for my friends. i know i'd be lost without them. i mean, seriously, how awesome is it that i can tell a friend something that is totally gross and even though she's grossed out by it, she's happy for me. so, thank you God for blessing me with such friends.yesterday, i was only happy. meaning, i doubt anything could have knocked me out of that mood. i'm still feeling rather happy today. i just finished playing golf. i sucked but i think it's because someone stole my driver so i was hitting off the tees with a 3 wood. blech.
happy
today, i am only happy. :)
glaucoma
for those of you who weight lift... don't hold your breath while you're lifting... it can lead to increased pressure on your optical nerve which could be a potential risk for developing glaucoma.
paparazzi
almost forgot... kay and i got to lara's baptism reception at the gopez residence and we were saying hi to everyone when annika walks straight up to kay and says, "no pictures!"
weeeeeeeekend & ichiro
Ichiro broke an American League record in the third inning of Saturday's game when he stole third base. It was his 33rd straight steal without being caught, breaking Willie Wilson's AL record of 32 straight, which was set in 1980 with the Royals. AND the same day, he became the only Major League player to have 200 hits in his first 6 seasons. crazy guy.weekend was fun but busy. went out with my brother and our friends on friday. we played pool at d&b... that place is crazy busy on the weekends. we saw a guy with a crazy mullet, too. hungout with my best friend and her beautiful baby on saturday. then went out with aaron in the evening. sunday i was with my roommates and then i went to lara's baptism. i waited for kay so she wouldn't have to drive and she could nap in the car. apparently, she needs to be dead tired to fall asleep otherwise she'll talk... even if i'm not talking to her. on the way back to irvine, there was SO much traffic. kay finally slept. she was totally wiped out. being thought about is really sweet. :)
honda santa ana sucks big butt
September 15, 2006Dear Honda Customer Relations:
I was indirectly dealing with Honda Santa Ana’s service department until today when I was to deal with service agent, Shawn Hodges, directly. My 2003 Accord Coupe was involved in an accident on December 8, 2005 and my car has been in and out of Santa Ana’s service center since then because problems are not fixed and/or overlooked an astounding 10 months later.
The body shop that I was dealing with stated that Shawn Hodges would listen to a rattling noise associated with the air conditioning if I took it in to him. I did so and was treated with an incredible amount of condescension. His body language and tone strongly implied that I was, well, stupid. I cannot begin to describe the way this individual treated me or the extent to which he was rude and disrespectful. He told me that he only checked the car, again, as a favor to the body shop because they do a lot of business with him. He stated that he drove it, had his best technician look over the car, and still found that “nothing is wrong with the car.” He was not willing to even take a drive with me to listen to what I was hearing and told me there was nothing else he could do for me.
I dealt with Honda Santa Ana only once before and promised myself never to return. I was looking to purchase an Accord Coupe in January of 2003. The salesman at Honda Santa Ana told me that the only way I could purchase the car was to pay $1,300 a month for two years. He was rude, condescending, and disrespectful. That same day, I went to Hondaworld Westminster, purchased an Accord Coupe for $500 a month for four years, and was treated extremely well. I now see there is a theme at Honda Santa Ana, to be rude, condescending, and disrespectful. It makes me wonder if this is because I look young and I am a woman or because the dealership fails to instill quality customer service attributes in their work place.
One of the reasons I am always promoting Honda to my friends and family, who are continually buying new cars, is because of the quality of the car and because I thought Honda promotes great customer service. I suppose Honda Santa Ana missed the memo.
Sincerely, An Irate Customer

"Duff" is the decaying organic matter found on a forest floor. i'm glad i'm not hilary duff.try to say this three times really fast... "The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick"i certainly never put this together... in disney's fantasia, the sorcerer to whom mickey played an apprentice was named yensid, which is disney spelled backward.someone try this out and let me know how it goes... by raising your legs slowly and lying on your back, you cannot sink into quicksand.and i just thought it was to look like a cool chef... a chef's hat is tall and balloons at the top so as to counteract the intense heat in the kitchen. the unique shape allows air to circulate around the scalp, keeping the head cool.good old dory... explains a lot... a fish's memory span is 3 seconds.fyi cicely... a healthy individual releases 3.5 oz. of gas in a single flatulent emission, or about 17 oz. in a day. since you've moved locations, maybe get a fan to put near you at work. :)remind me to bring a raisin with me to the next wedding so i can try this... a raisin dropped in a glass of fresh champagne will bounce up and down continuously from the bottom of the glass to the top.
crawling
this morning, Time is not my friend. in fact, Time is simply meandering along as though it has no care in the world. Time does not seem to give a rat's ass that i don't want to be at work today so it is taking great joy in torturing me by slowing the passing of minutes.
9/11 specials
i watched a 9/11 special last night... one of the many that were on. i can't believe it's been 5 years since the attack. it seems like just yesterday. i don't think i can begin to comprehend even a fraction of the horror that people faced in NY, at the Pentagon, and for everyone on the planes. it gives me chills to watch the little specks of what seemed like rubble falling from the towers, when in fact, the little specks were people. like most people, i remember exactly where i was, in my apartment getting ready for work when my boss called and said to stay home and to turn on the tv. i remember i was still in my PJs. i sat in front of the t.v. for the rest of the day. seeing the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower made my heart drop. then came the Pentagon, the plane in PA, and the towers collapsing. i'd never felt such a heavy sense of dread before.my parents, who were in china at the time, didn't even know about what was happening until the next day when a taxi driver asked if they were american. when they said yes, he kept saying sorry and made hand motions of something crashing and saying "big boom." it was a unimagineable day and one that no one will forget. how could we?
weekend
i had a pretty relaxing weekend. i liked not having to study or do any type of reading. i didn't do much friday, in fact, i can't remember what i did on friday. saturday, woke up early to play golf with my brother, chris, and my brother's friend. it went pretty well!! i didn't mess up too much and it was fun even though it did get rather hot toward the 18th hole. we went to lunch after and it was funny b/c my brother had to walk around in his golf shoes since chris had left early and his regular shoes were in chris's car. saturday night, i didn't have any plans and around 7ish, i decided that i'd probably like to go out but the problem was, with who? i did a mental run through... my friend was at his soon to be brother-in-law's birthday celebration, kay & company were in vegas, cicely & jay were in vegas, my girl friend from school was in vegas, my best friend was in the valley... so i called aaron. i guess it didn't matter that he was the first person i called because he said, something along the lines of, "wait, you're calling me at 7 o'clock on a saturday night to see if i want to go out, tonight??" i guess he didn't feel very wanted or special. hahahahaha... oops! i hadn't really thought of it like that. he WAS the first person i called. doesn't count that i had mentally run through where everyone was beforehand. went to kay's birthday pool party/bbq on sunday with my friend. oh, we are dating but i am still calling him my friend. anyway, it was a lot of fun and of course, i got to eat my sprinkles cupcakes. so, my friend is no longer snuffy. kay, you'd best take my side on this. granted, certain individuals who like to call him snuffy have not yet met him (dex, pia, lovette) but he's not snuffy!!! eileen met him and how often do i get to see her? even audrey met him! so there. no more snuffy.
possessive
there are times when i think i'm a possessive friend, specifically of my group of high school friends. i've not tried to get this group to interact with any of my other groups of friends. i rarely bring any of my friends with me when i hangout with this group. i'm possessive of them. they're mine and i don't want to share. i brought a friend from school with me to a graduation shindig for when my "oldest" friend john graduated from the police academy. anyway, as it would turn out, there's a slight possibility that she'll hangout with a friend from that group and i don't like it. i mean, in the end, it'll probably be ok with me if she wants to, but my group has been infiltrated! it's totally lame and i should get over it but i'm irked. IRKED.
work tomorrow? ah, man!!!
wish i didn't have to work tomorrow and my fun weekend would continue.friday was fun. hungout with my roommates and then was with my friend talking until 3 freaking 40 in the morning. i'm not complaining because i enjoyed talking to him but it explained why i was butt-ass tired on saturday when i met up with tracey and eric (my God parents). we helped eric move and watched a movie that had Vin Diesel playing some mob guy. i forgot the name of it but it was pretty good. you really have to pay attention because the whole movie is in the dialogue. there's no real action.sunday, i ate breakfast with my girl friend and then went to the mall for a while. later, i met up with my friend. noreen and others met my friend after church sunday (by the way kay, we need to figure out when to visit noreen while she's on maternity leave). so does that mean he's not technically a "snuffy" now? anyway, i introduced my friend to father pat and fr. pat pointed to me and said, "great girl. great girl right here." and all i could do was laugh. my friend thought it was funny and said, "you don't have to tell me, i'm already out with her." sweet, huh? after that we went to eat at houston's (yummy!) and then watched Little Miss Sunshine. i highly recommend that movie. it was awesome. i just now finished my b-law final. good thing. it's due tomorrow by 12 p.m. i'm not sure how good of a job i did but i hope it's enough for an A in the class. oh, and i think my "friend" and i have crossed that border where he is more than just a friend.
